It has been a while since we last wrote about our year in the DC area!
We celebrated Thanksgiving with family members from far and wide for the first time in years
One perk of living near family was getting to join my dad for dinner on his 75th birthday!
We made our way through the ice maze..
..and through several holiday light displays
And woke up to a stocked tree
Our Californian cousins brought some temperate December weather
A special treat was seeing John Oliver from the Presidential Box at the Kennedy Center!
And we spent New Year's Eve in an indoor skydiving experience
Early January went from mid-sixties..
...to several inches of snowfall and a week of snow days!
The rest of January brought emergency overseas travel, quarantines, illnesses, isolations, and more snow days, which thankfully lacked photo documentation.
When we finally emerged from that, we got back to exploring our temporary home
While on a quest to visit a far-flung metro station, Milan and mom had an unfortunate series of mishaps that resulted in a 2+ hour trip that should have taken 30 minutes, and took this photo to commemorate the journey
Better times on a day off of school scooting around the river
The cherry blossoms were short-lived but did not disappoint!
Milan went on a field trip with his class to Jamestown, after several months learning about Virginia history in school
Another sampling of photos during the winter and spring in DC!
